Mehndi Party
Mehndi is a ceremonial art form which originated in ancient India. It is also known as Henna. Mehndi is a widely known as a decorative temporary skin tattoo applied with Henna paste (made from the crushed leaves of the henna plant) used to beautify hands and feet. This ancient art form has been practiced for more than five thousand years throughout India, Africa, and the Middle East where the henna plant is believed to bring love and good fortune, and to protect against evil. Mehndi is traditionally used for wedding ceremonies, important rites of passage, and in times of joyous celebration.
This is another pre-wedding ritual as the bride will get her hands and feet decorated for her big day, sitting still for hours as the intricate designs are applied. For female guests, this is a chance to check out up close the designs on Darlene and get some designs put on your hands as well which will stay on for the wedding ceremonies & reception and last for a few days afterwards.
This event has two sessions for your convenience if you would like to stop by Darlene's house on Friday, August 2nd, get some henna applied to your hands and join us for some delicious food:
Morning Session:
10:00 am to 1:00 pm
Evening Session:
5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
